Central Penn Doll Collectors Club is a non-profit organization with approximately 60 members. The club was founded so that doll collectors could share their common interests and educate each other and the community about dolls and doll collecting.
Monthly meetings are held at the Mohler Senior Center, 25 Hope Drive, Hershey, PA. Generally the meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month unless there is a conflict with a holiday or with our annual show. The business meeting begins at 2:00 P.M. followed by refreshments. Then an informative doll-related program is presented by a club member or guest speaker. The meeting ends with a show-and-tell session where attendees can share their treasures. The program topics reflect the diverse interests of members.
Special club activities include our annual doll show and our annual luncheon. In addition to vendors selling a variety of dolls and related items, our show features doll displays by club members, a raffle of about 40 doll items, and door prizes. The luncheon includes a doll raffle, doll displays, sales tables, a special program, and a souvenir related to the luncheon topic. We also occasionally plan trips to doll shows or other places of interest to doll collectors.
Prospective members attend three initial ‘getting to know you’ meetings to learn about us and experience our meetings firsthand. If you would like to join us, we will give you a membership application and vote to accept you as a new member at your third meeting. Once you become a member of Central Penn Doll Collectors Club, we encourage you to actively participate as much as possible to get the most out of your membership experience.
Membership dues are currently $45 each year and include membership in our national organization, the United Federation of Doll Clubs (UFDC), as well as a subscription to “Doll News”, a quarterly magazine published by UFDC. More information about UFDC is available at www.ufdc.org.
